Visit Keller at the Island Development Middle East Conference in Dubai to be held at Le Royal Meridien – JBR The Walk on 5-6 December 2017. This conference will highlight and share knowledge on best practices in design and construction of urban islands and coastline development. We are pleased to meet you at our Keller booth and answer any questions you might have or if you need more information on our geotechnical solutions that we offer in the Middle East.

The entire world is impressed with the extraordinary man-made developments like Dubai palm islands and the World project in the UAE, Amwaj islands in Bahrain and the Pearl island in Qatar. With these and recently announced mega projects like $1.7 billion Marsa Al Arab in the UAE and $8 billion Red Sea project in Saudi Arabia, the Middle East has become a world leader in artificial islands.

However, behind this fascinating expansion of the entire region, there are ultimate challenges, that main contractors, consultants and developer have to overcome. Geotechnical design difficulties, risk of liquefaction, coastal erosion, sedimentation, environmental damage, choosing the right dredging and reclamation techniques – this is not the full list of problems to be resolved by experts from marine and coastal sectors while planning and constructing coastline developments.

Some of Keller’s island development projects where large volumes of Vibro Compaction has been executed include the iconic Palm Jumeirah and the Upper Zakum Islands.
