TAM grouting successfully delivered along a major tunnel alignment in Dubai, with approximately 1,000 m³ of grout injected under controlled pressure to support safe and reliable micro-tunnelling operations.
The project
As part of Dubai Municipality’s 2030 Urban Development Plan, Keller Foundation Co. LLC delivered TAM grouting for the SW-13 and SW-14 stormwater micro-tunnelling works in Dubai.
The treatment strengthened the ground to support safe pipe jacking and reduce the risks of ground loss and instability in soft soil conditions.
The challenge
The works were delivered within a highly constrained roadway ROW, adjacent to live utilities and occupied warehouses. Inclined and angled grout holes were carefully planned to treat the tunnel alignment while avoiding existing services.
The solution
Keller implemented controlled-pressure TAM grouting to strengthen the ground along the tunnel alignment, enabling safe and efficient pipe jacking while minimizing settlement and ground loss and protec-ting nearby infrastructure and utilities.
The works included more than 10,000 lm of drilling and were completed with zero safety incidents.
