The project
The KEZAD Gate Warehouses project is located in ICAD III, Industrial City, Abu Dhabi, UAE. The proposed development covers a total area of 350,000m².
Keller, as a specialized geotechnical contractor, was assigned to carry out the ground improvement works required for the project, to improve and homogenize the soil conditions, ensuring compliance with the project's design criteria.
The challenge
The primary challenge of the project was to complete it within the specified time frame while working near utilities, without causing any damage.
The solution
Keller adopted tailored approaches in select areas to expedite and optimize the Dynamic Replacement (DR) method, efficiently meeting the required project criteria.
To overcome the challenges of working near utilities, Keller proposed and executed the Vibro Replacement method. This solution successfully met the project criteria for bearing capacity, settlement, and liquefaction, all while ensuring no damage to utilities or the need for their relocation.
The scope of work included ground improvement in areas as close as 3 meters from utilities, demonstrating precision and care. Keller completed the project within the agreed time frame, without any quality or safety issues, and received highly satis-factory feedback from the client.
