The project
The Obhur Entertainment Complex is a flagship leisure development supporting Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, delivering world-class recreational facilities and modern infrastructure to create a vibrant destination for families and visitors.
The challenge
The proposed foundation loads exceeded the capacity of the existing ground conditions, comprising loose to medium dense sands overlying a weak and highly variable coralline limestone layer. A reliable ground improvement solution was required to enhance bearing capacity and control foundation settlements.
The solution
Keller implemented a CPT-based ground zoning strategy to address the variable subsurface conditions. Vibro stone columns were designed with optimized depths and replacement ratios for each zone, delivering the required bearing capacity and settlement performance, as verified through a comprehensive testing program.
