As part of NEOM’s TROJENA development, Keller delivered specialist foundation, slope stabilization, and civil engineering works for the Ski Village, overcoming significant high-altitude construction challenges to support the creation of a world-class mountain resort destination.
The project
TROJENA is NEOM’s flagship mountain destination, developed to create a world-class tourism, leisure, and adventure hub in support of Vision 2030. Keller was engaged on the Ski Village, the centerpiece of the Fun Cluster, which will serve as the resort’s primary hospitality and recreation hub at an elevation of over 2,300 m.
The challenge
The Ski Village offered a challenging high-altitude mountain environment, with steep terrain, complex rock conditions, restricted access, and significant structural demands across multiple work fronts. Successful delivery required careful planning and the integration of specialist foundation, slope stabilization, and civil engineering solutions.
The solution
Keller delivered specialist geotechnical solutions including Micropiles, rock anchors, rock face stabilization by shotcrete using fiber concrete, and geo-mapping to verify design assumptions against actual ground conditions. The works were complemented by associated civil construction, including heavily reinforced pile caps and foundations, providing a fully integrated solution for the Ski Village development.
